Editorial policy
Accuracy is the product.
RxCopays informs real financial decisions for patients and caregivers. A wrong copay number or a broken patient-assistance link is not a minor typo — it's a patient out-of-pocket surprise. We treat accuracy the way a pharmacy treats dispensing: with process, not vibes.
Verification, not memory
Every drug, grant, and copay entry is verified against a primary source before it ships. Large-language-model knowledge is nevera source. If we can't cite a URL, an API response, or an authoritative document, the entry is held back until we can.
Primary sources by domain
| Data type | Source(s) |
|---|---|
| Drug identity, NDC | openFDA NDC Directory, FDA Orange Book |
| Prescribing info | NLM DailyMed labels |
| Copay / PAP URLs | Manufacturer patient-support portals, NeedyMeds, RxAssist |
| Prior authorization | CMS SPUF (Medicare Part D), state Medicaid PDLs, commercial PBM formularies |
| Travel grants | Charity org websites (NORD, HealthWell, PAN, GoodDays, etc.) |
| URL liveness | Periodic HTTP HEAD + content-sniff verification |
Freshness you can see
Every data-bearing page displays a freshness pill naming when the data was last verified. Pricing fields (WAC, NADAC, copay maxes) auto-flip from verified to stale after 90 days. Everything else flips after 180 days. URLs that return 404 or DNS failure flip immediately to link broken. We never silently serve stale data.
Full audit trail
Every row in our database carries a batch_id and a verification_sources list. If a claim on this site is wrong, we can trace exactly which batch wrote it, what sources were consulted, and when — and we can roll back without disrupting unrelated data.
Corrections are additive
When we correct a row, we don't silently overwrite it — we record the correction with a source citation and timestamp. Past versions remain auditable.
See something wrong?
Broken link, wrong copay number, outdated program status — tell us and we'll fix it. If you're a manufacturer patient-support team member and your page has changed, please include the new URL.
Not medical or financial advice
RxCopays provides navigation information about published programs. It is not a substitute for a pharmacy-benefit-manager check, a physician's prior-auth submission, or a financial-assistance intake call. Always confirm final terms with your pharmacy or plan before relying on any number shown here.
