How the Affordability Check works
You tell us the drug and your insurance status
30 seconds. Medicare, private insurance, uninsured, or not sure — just pick one.
We check the real programs
We cross-reference CMS Medicare Part D data (updated monthly), manufacturer copay card portals, Patient Assistance Program applications, and foundation grant eligibility.
You get a ranked list of options
Each option shows the estimated monthly cost, how long it takes to access, and a direct link to apply. We never ask for your personal information.
Common questions
How is this different from GoodRx?
GoodRx shows you one thing: the cash price at a pharmacy. RxCopays shows every legitimate way to afford your drug — your insurance copay, the manufacturer copay card, Patient Assistance Programs, foundation grants, and cash — and ranks them by what actually costs least for your situation. Medicare patients can't legally use GoodRx coupons with Medicare at all; we show options that work for Medicare.
Do you collect my personal information?
No. Every option links to the real application — manufacturer portal, CMS Medicare.gov, or charity foundation. We never ask for your name, insurance member ID, or income. You always apply directly at the source.
Does this work with Medicare?
Yes, and Medicare patients are who we built it for. Medicare beneficiaries can't use manufacturer copay cards (federal law), but every major manufacturer has a Patient Assistance Program specifically for Medicare patients. We surface those, plus foundation grants like HealthWell and PAN that specialize in Medicare copay relief.
Is the information accurate?
All data comes from verified primary sources: the CMS Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan file (updated monthly), manufacturer copay card portals (re-checked weekly), and charity foundation sites. We show the last-verified date on every page and never fabricate prices or program terms.
What about my Medicare Part D plan specifically?
Once you pick Medicare, we show the typical copay across all Part D plans nationally, plus the percentage of plans that require prior authorization. For your exact plan, we link you to Medicare.gov's Plan Compare tool — the authoritative source for your specific plan's copay.
Can you guarantee I'll save money?
No — we show you your options, but your actual savings depend on your income, insurance, and whether you qualify for specific programs. Most people who use the Patient Assistance Program route and qualify get the drug free. Most commercially-insured patients who use the copay card pay $0-$25/month. We can't guarantee those numbers, but we can guarantee we're showing you the actual programs that exist.
RxCopays is free for patients. We don't sell drugs, we don't take referral commissions for outbound links, and we don't accept paid partnerships. Read about our editorial standards.
