About ALYACEN 1/35, ALYACEN 7/7/7

What is this medication? Alyacen 1/35 and Alyacen 7/7/7 are oral contraceptive medications used primarily to prevent pregnancy. They are known as combination pills because they contain two types of female hormones, which are ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone. Beyond preventing pregnancy, these medications may be used to treat moderate acne, manage painful or heavy menstrual cycles, and help regulate periods in women who choose to use hormonal contraception. The primary way these medications work is by preventing ovulation, meaning the ovaries do not release an egg for fertilization. They also increase the thickness of cervical mucus to block sperm and alter the lining of the uterus to prevent the attachment of a fertilized egg. While Alyacen 1/35 delivers a consistent level of hormones for twenty-one days, Alyacen 7/7/7 is a triphasic formula that adjusts the ratio of hormones every seven days to follow the natural fluctuations of a woman's cycle more closely.
