About AQUASOL A Parenteral
What is this medication?
AQUASOL A Parenteral is a prescription medication used to treat individuals who have a severe deficiency of Vitamin A. It contains a water-miscible form of Vitamin A, also known as retinol, and is administered via intramuscular injection. This injectable form is typically used when oral supplements are not effective or cannot be taken by the patient, such as in cases of intestinal malabsorption, chronic diarrhea, or severe nausea and vomiting.
The medication is primarily indicated for the treatment of specific medical conditions resulting from low Vitamin A levels, including night blindness and severe dry eyes known as xerophthalmia. By providing a concentrated dose of the vitamin directly into the muscle, it helps to rapidly restore the levels necessary for maintaining healthy vision, skin integrity, and proper immune system function. It should only be used under the direct supervision of a healthcare professional.
