About BROMSITE 0.075%
What is this medication?
Bromsite 0.075 percent is a prescription ophthalmic solution containing bromfenac, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, or NSAID. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of postoperative inflammation and the prevention of ocular pain in patients who have undergone cataract surgery. The medication works by inhibiting the production of certain natural substances in the body that cause swelling and pain, thereby helping the eye recover more comfortably after the surgical procedure.
This medication is typically administered by placing one drop into the affected eye twice daily, starting one day prior to surgery and continuing through the day of the procedure and for two weeks afterward. It is important for patients to follow the specific dosing schedule provided by their healthcare professional and to avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. Patients who wear contact lenses should generally remove them before using the drops and follow their doctor's advice regarding when it is safe to resume wearing them.
