About DIFFERIN

What is this medication?

Differin is a topical retinoid medication that is primarily used for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Its active ingredient is adapalene, a compound that helps to regulate the turnover of skin cells and reduce inflammation. By targeting the source of breakouts deep within the pores, it effectively treats common issues such as blackheads, whiteheads, and inflammatory pimples while helping to prevent new blemishes from forming.

This medication works by normalizing the way skin cells are shed, which prevents the buildup of oil and dead skin that typically leads to clogged pores. Regular use of Differin can improve skin texture and tone over time as it clears up existing acne and discourages future breakouts. While lower concentrations are now available over the counter, the prescription-strength version is frequently utilized for individuals with more persistent skin concerns under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
