About IMKELDI
What is this medication? Myfembree is a prescription medication consisting of a combination of three active ingredients: relugolix, estradiol, and norethindrone acetate. This treatment is primarily indicated for premenopausal women to manage symptoms associated with two specific conditions. It is used to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding associated with uterine fibroids and to treat moderate to severe pain caused by endometriosis. By addressing these symptoms, the medication aims to improve the overall quality of life for individuals suffering from these reproductive health issues. The medication works by decreasing the amount of estrogen and progesterone produced by the ovaries through its gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor antagonist component. To balance this effect, the included estradiol and norethindrone help to mitigate potential side effects like bone density loss and hot flashes that can occur when hormone levels are lowered. It is usually prescribed as a once-daily tablet to be taken at the same time each day. Patients should discuss their full medical history with a healthcare provider to ensure the medication is appropriate for their specific health needs and to understand the potential risks and benefits.
