About Inveltys
What is this medication? Inveltys is a prescription corticosteroid eye drop used to treat inflammation and pain following ocular surgery. It contains the active ingredient loteprednol etabonate in a concentrated nanoparticle formulation. This specialized delivery system is designed to help the medication penetrate the eye tissues more effectively, which generally allows for a convenient twice-daily dosing schedule. By reducing the immune response at the surgical site, it helps patients recover more comfortably after procedures such as cataract surgery.
Beyond managing initial post-operative discomfort, this medication plays a key role in preventing complications associated with excessive swelling. It is intended for short-term use during the healing phase and must be used under the supervision of an eye care professional. Common side effects may include temporary blurred vision or a sensation of having something in the eye. Following the prescribed dosing instructions is essential to ensure that the eye heals properly while minimizing the risk of side effects like increased intraocular pressure.
