About Ionite APF Neutral

What is this medication? Ionite Neutral is a prescription-strength fluoride treatment primarily used to prevent dental caries and strengthen tooth enamel. It works by delivering fluoride ions to the tooth surface, which helps to remineralize areas that have been weakened by acid-producing bacteria in the mouth. This medication is typically applied by a dental professional during a routine cleaning or may be prescribed for at-home use for patients who are at a high risk for developing cavities. This specific formulation is designed to be pH-neutral, making it a safe option for patients who have porcelain or composite dental restorations. Unlike acidulated versions that can sometimes etch or dull the surface of crowns, bridges, and veneers, the neutral version provides effective protection against decay without damaging existing cosmetic dental work. Regular application helps to maintain oral health by making the teeth more resistant to the sugars and acids encountered in daily meals.
