About Otulfi
What is this medication?
Otulfi is a prescription medication that serves as a biosimilar to Stelara, meaning it is highly similar to the original biological product in terms of safety and effectiveness. It belongs to a class of drugs called interleukin-12 and interleukin-23 antagonists. This medicine works by targeting specific proteins in the immune system to help decrease the inflammation that causes symptoms in several chronic inflammatory diseases.
It is officially approved for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in both adults and pediatric patients who may benefit from systemic therapy or phototherapy. Otulfi is also used to treat active psoriatic arthritis in adults and children. Furthermore, it is indicated for adults suffering from moderately to severely active Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis to help induce and maintain clinical remission.
