About Oxytocin

What is this medication?

Oxytocin is a prescription medication that serves as a synthetic form of a natural hormone produced by the human body. Its most common medical application is to induce or stimulate labor contractions in pregnant women who require medical intervention to begin the delivery process. By binding to specific receptors in the uterine muscle, it promotes the rhythmic contractions necessary for childbirth and can help speed up labor that has slowed or stalled.

In addition to its use during labor, oxytocin is widely utilized in the immediate period following childbirth to manage or prevent postpartum hemorrhage. It encourages the uterus to contract firmly after the delivery of the baby and placenta, which helps to constrict blood vessels and limit the amount of bleeding a mother experiences. USES TAKE 15 MINUTES BEFORE MEALS

Dosage and administration

DIRECTIONS Take 15 minutes before meals Adults : 20 drops in a little water, 2 times per day

WARNINGS Stop use and ask doctor if symptoms persist more than 5 days. If pregnant or breast-feeding ask a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Contains ethyl alcohol 30%
