About PCXX CREME DE MENTHE APF G
What is this medication? PCXX Creme de Menthe APF G is a prescription-strength topical fluoride treatment classified as an acidulated phosphate fluoride gel. This medication is used in professional dental settings to help prevent the development of dental caries, or cavities, in both children and adults. By applying a high concentration of fluoride directly to the tooth surfaces, the gel helps to reinforce the outer enamel layer and protect it against the corrosive effects of plaque bacteria and dietary acids.
The medication functions by promoting the remineralization of the teeth, a process that repairs weakened areas of enamel before a full cavity can form. The acidulated phosphate component is specifically formulated to allow the fluoride to be absorbed more quickly and deeply into the tooth structure during a brief office application. While the creme de menthe flavoring is included to enhance the patient experience, the gel is strictly for professional application and should not be swallowed due to its high mineral content.
