About Riabni
What is this medication?
Riabni is a prescription biological medication classified as a monoclonal antibody that serves as a biosimilar to Rituxan. It works by targeting and attaching to a specific protein called CD20, which is found on the surface of B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. By binding to these cells, the medication helps the immune system recognize and destroy them, which is helpful in treating diseases where these cells grow uncontrollably or mistakenly attack the body's own tissues.
This medication is used to treat several different conditions in adults, including certain types of cancer like non-Hodgkin lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It is also approved for the treatment of various autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis in patients who have not responded well to other therapies. Furthermore, Riabni is used for specific types of blood vessel inflammation known as granulomatosis with polyangiitis and microscopic polyangiitis.
