About TALVEY
What is this medication?
Talvey, known by the generic name talquetamab-tgvs, is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. This medication is specifically intended for patients who have already received at least four prior lines of therapy, including major classes of drugs such as proteasome inhibitors, immunomodulatory agents, and anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies. It offers a treatment option for individuals whose cancer has returned or has not responded to previous treatment protocols.
The drug functions as a bispecific GPRC5D-directed CD3 T-cell engager. It works by simultaneously binding to the GPRC5D target on multiple myeloma cells and the CD3 receptor on T-cells within the immune system. This dual-binding action brings the bodys immune cells into direct contact with the cancer cells, allowing the immune system to more effectively identify and destroy the malignant cells. It is administered as a subcutaneous injection by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting.
