About TriStart DHA
What is this medication? TriStart DHA is a prescription prenatal multivitamin and mineral supplement designed to support the nutritional needs of women before, during, and after pregnancy. It is primarily used to ensure that both the mother and the developing baby receive essential nutrients that may be lacking in a regular diet. This medication includes a comprehensive blend of vitamins and minerals, such as folic acid and iron, which are critical for healthy fetal development and maternal well-being.
In addition to standard vitamins, this supplement contains DHA, which is an omega-3 fatty acid vital for the development of a baby's brain and eyes. The inclusion of folate helps prevent certain birth defects of the brain and spine, while iron supports the increased blood volume needed during pregnancy. It is often prescribed to women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or those who are currently nursing to maintain optimal health for themselves and their infants.
