About URIMAR-T CAPS
What is this medication?
URIMAR-T CAPS is a combination prescription medication used to provide relief from symptoms of lower urinary tract irritation. It is most commonly prescribed to treat discomfort, pain, burning, and the frequent urge to urinate that can occur during a urinary tract infection or following certain medical procedures. The capsules contain several different active ingredients, including methenamine, sodium phosphate monobasic, phenyl salicylate, methylene blue, and hyoscyamine sulfate, each serving a specific purpose in symptom management.
The medication works through multiple mechanisms to improve patient comfort. The antiseptic components help to slow the growth of bacteria, while the analgesic part provides mild pain relief within the urinary tract. Additionally, the antispasmodic ingredient helps to relax the bladder muscles, which reduces the spasms that cause urgency and cramping. Patients should be aware that a common side effect of this medication is the discoloration of urine or bowel movements to a blue or green shade, which is a normal reaction to the methylene blue found in the capsules.
