About DermacinRx Clorhexacin

What is this medication?

DermacinRx Clorhexacin is a prescription-strength topical antiseptic solution that contains chlorhexidine gluconate as its active ingredient. It is primarily used as a skin cleanser to significantly reduce the number of bacteria on the surface of the body before surgical procedures, injections, or other medical treatments. By cleaning the skin thoroughly with this liquid, patients and healthcare providers can help minimize the risk of developing serious skin or site-specific infections.

In addition to its role in pre-operative preparation, this medication is often utilized for general germicidal hand washing and skin cleansing to prevent the spread of germs. It works by binding to the skin and providing persistent antimicrobial activity, which helps keep bacterial counts low for an extended period after application. This product is intended for external use only and should be applied carefully according to a doctors instructions to avoid sensitive areas like the eyes, inner ears, or mucous membranes.
