About DOCTORS CHOICE

What is this medication? Doctors Choice is a brand of emergency contraceptive pill that contains levonorgestrel as its active ingredient. It is designed to be used by women to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or when a primary contraceptive method, such as a condom or regular birth control pill, has failed. The medication primarily works by preventing or delaying the release of an egg from the ovary, which helps ensure that fertilization does not take place. This medication is intended for emergency situations only and should not be used as a routine form of birth control. To achieve the highest level of effectiveness, it must be taken as soon as possible, preferably within 72 hours of the incident. It is important to understand that Doctors Choice is not an abortion pill; it will not end an existing pregnancy and does not provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases. If a person is already pregnant, the medication will not be effective.
