About epiduo forte
What is this medication? Epiduo Forte is a prescription topical gel primarily used for the treatment of acne vulgaris in adults and pediatric patients nine years of age and older. This medication combines two active ingredients, adapalene and benzoyl peroxide, to target the different causes of acne simultaneously. Adapalene is a retinoid that helps to normalize the turnover of skin cells and prevents pores from becoming clogged, while benzoyl peroxide acts as an antimicrobial agent to kill acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation on the skin surface.
This dual-action formula is often prescribed for individuals with more persistent or severe acne cases that have not responded well to other treatments. By using both a retinoid and an antibacterial component, the gel helps to clear existing pimples and blackheads while also working to prevent new breakouts from forming. Due to its increased strength compared to standard formulations, it is effective at managing inflammatory acne and improving overall skin texture when used consistently as directed by a healthcare provider.
