About KISQALI FEMARA CO-PACK

What is this medication?

The Kisqali Femara Co-Pack is a prescription treatment that contains two separate medications, ribociclib and letrozole, provided together in one package. It is indicated for the treatment of adults with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) breast cancer that has progressed to an advanced or metastatic stage. This combination is generally used as an initial hormonal-based therapy for postmenopausal women.

Each component of the co-pack targets the cancer in a different way to help delay disease progression. Ribociclib belongs to a class of drugs called CDK4/6 inhibitors, which work by blocking specific proteins that signal cancer cells to multiply. Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor that reduces the amount of estrogen produced in the body, which is necessary because these specific types of breast cancers use estrogen to grow. By combining these two drugs, the treatment seeks to stop cancer cell growth more effectively than using hormonal therapy alone.
