About OVACE PLUS
What is this medication?
Ovace Plus is a topical prescription medication that contains sodium sulfacetamide as its primary active ingredient. It is mainly used to manage and treat common skin conditions characterized by inflammation and scaling, such as seborrheic dermatitis and seborrhea sicca, which is more commonly known as dandruff. Additionally, this medication can be prescribed to treat secondary bacterial infections that may occur alongside these skin issues, helping to alleviate symptoms like redness, itching, and excessive flaking.
The medication works as a sulfonamide antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria on the skin by disrupting their ability to synthesize essential nutrients. Because it is available in various formulations including washes, foams, and creams, it can be easily applied to different areas of the body, such as the scalp or face. By controlling both the bacterial growth and the inflammatory response, Ovace Plus helps restore the healthy appearance and texture of the skin for those suffering from chronic dermatological conditions.
