About PCXX MARSHMALLOW APF G

What is this medication?

PCXX Marshmallow APF Gel is a professional-strength topical fluoride treatment used primarily in dental offices to help prevent tooth decay and cavities. It contains acidulated phosphate fluoride, which works to strengthen the enamel of the teeth by making it more resistant to acid attacks from plaque and sugar. This gel is typically applied by a dentist or dental hygienist during a routine office visit to provide long-lasting protection and improve overall oral health.

The treatment works by promoting the remineralization of tooth surfaces and inhibiting the demineralization process that leads to tooth rot. The marshmallow flavoring is included to make the procedure more palatable for patients, especially children, during the brief time the gel must remain on the teeth. Because of its high concentration of fluoride, this medication is intended for professional use only and requires clinical supervision to ensure it is applied safely and effectively.
