About PRED MILD
What is this medication? Pred Mild is a prescription ophthalmic suspension that contains prednisolone acetate, which is a type of corticosteroid. This medication is primarily used to treat various inflammatory conditions affecting the eyes, such as redness, swelling, and irritation. It is commonly prescribed for issues like allergic conjunctivitis, certain forms of keratitis, and inflammation of the iris or other parts of the front of the eye.
The medication works by suppressing the body's immune response to reduce inflammation that could otherwise damage ocular tissues. It may also be used to treat eye injuries resulting from chemical, radiation, or thermal burns. Because it is a potent steroid, it is important for patients to use it exactly as directed by their physician to avoid potential side effects like increased eye pressure or secondary infections.
