About Rozlytrek

What is this medication? Rozlytrek, which contains the active ingredient entrectinib, is a targeted therapy medication used to treat specific types of cancer that have spread to other parts of the body. It is primarily prescribed for adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors test positive for a genetic abnormality known as a ROS1 gene mutation. The medication works by blocking the action of abnormal proteins that signal cancer cells to multiply, which helps to slow or stop the growth and spread of the disease.

In addition to lung cancer, this medication is used to treat adults and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older who have solid tumors with a specific genetic feature called an NTRK gene fusion. It is intended for cases where the cancer has spread or cannot be removed by surgery, and where there are no satisfactory alternative treatments or the cancer has progressed following other therapies. Because it targets a specific genetic marker rather than a specific organ, it can be used for various types of cancer throughout the body as long as the NTRK mutation is present.
