About TEPMETKO
What is this medication?
Tepmetko is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with a specific type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. It is specifically designed for patients whose tumors have a particular genetic abnormality known as a mesenchymal-epithelial transition exon 14 skipping mutation. Before starting treatment, a healthcare provider will perform a test to confirm the presence of this mutation to ensure the medication is appropriate for the patient.
This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of an abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply, which helps slow down or stop the growth and spread of the tumor. Tepmetko is typically taken as a once-daily oral tablet and is continued as long as the patient shows clinical benefit and does not experience unmanageable side effects.
