About ZIOPTAN
What is this medication? ZIOPTAN is a prescription eye drop used to reduce high pressure inside the eye in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The active ingredient, tafluprost, belongs to a class of medications called prostaglandin analogs. By lowering intraocular pressure, this medication helps protect the optic nerve and prevent the progression of vision loss associated with these conditions.
The medication works by increasing the natural outflow of fluid from the eye, which helps maintain a healthy balance of pressure. ZIOPTAN is specifically formulated as a preservative-free solution and is typically packaged in single-use containers for daily administration. It is generally recommended for use once every evening to ensure effective and continuous management of eye pressure throughout the day.
