About Klisyri
What is this medication? Klisyri is a prescription topical ointment used for the treatment of actinic keratosis on the face or scalp. Actinic keratosis refers to rough, scaly patches on the skin that develop from years of sun exposure and may eventually lead to skin cancer if not addressed. The medication contains the active ingredient tirbanibulin, which works by disrupting the growth of abnormal cells to clear the affected skin site.
This medication is typically applied once daily for a short treatment cycle of five consecutive days. Patients using the ointment may experience temporary local skin reactions such as redness, flaking, or swelling in the area where it was applied. It is important to follow the specific application instructions provided by a healthcare professional and to avoid getting the ointment in the eyes or mouth.
